After F Street closed up its business, another company moved in and spent $4 million to rehabilitate the property. The new company reopened a homosexual nightclub on the property complex called Universal-Dish Hillcrest. Bragging that they were trying to mix homosexual and heterosexuals in a "pace-setting omni-sexual lounge," gay activists mocked Hartline after the re-opening of the new club.
In a recent comment on one of Hartline's blogs, a homosexual activist wrote, "James you do good! The old porn place that you closed at 1202 UNIVERSITY AVENUE in Hillcrest was replaced by The Universal Club. A world class facility where gays and straights can relax in peace. Now the old Romantix porn shop is being replaced by a new bar and grill. This new bar will be a straight bar but gays will be very welcome. Downtown did not need that porn store because it was not well stocked and the internet stores offer a huge variety and good service. What we need downtown are more gay friendly bars and this is what we are now getting. Several bars and restaurants now realize that gays and straights are a good combination and the welcome mat is out. This gay/straight trend is well advanced in several other cities and now finally it is happening in San Diego.Thanks James."
However, the owner of the new club has been rocked with lawsuits and this week the Hillcrest Univeral club closed its doors for good. This marks the 17th time that James Hartline has been on the forefront of the culture war to spiritually drive out an antichrist business from his city. Hartline hopes that one day the homosexual activists and their allies will figure out, just like he did, that their time should be spent on finding peace with Jesus Christ rather than in a bar or a porn palace. Either way, God is not a God to be mocked.

Did you have a bus or just carpool from location to location that day?
If God really wanted those adult businesses closed, why would he only want some adult businesses closed and not ALL of them? Perhaps God does not really care one way or the other. In fact, I have not heard of anyone in San Diego that really cares, other than James Hartline.
More adult stores WILL close soon because the internet is changing the face of the adult entertainment industry. Online porn emporiums, Craigslist, and hundreds of assorted online sites have presented a smorgasbord of erotic delights that did not exist 5 years ago. Why pay for porn when you can download if for free in the comfort of your living room? Why go out to a night club or bar to make a connection when you can arrange a hookup online and reach thousands of potential partners? Why have seperate bars and night clubs for gays and straights when most people don't care about your sexual orientation? A new revolution has arrived in San Diego and God has given us many new ways to enjoy one another and the puritans among us can now do nothing to stop it. No wonder they feel frustrated.

James, what are you doing to make San Diego a better city, other than just praying? It seems to me that you just want God to do the work while you tell him what needs to be done; as if he did not know already.
I don’t know if these porn stores closed down because of your efforts or whether there are other reasons. It is not important. While it is true that some gay people go to porn stores, porn stores do not define the gay community. As someone else pointed out, there are porn outlets on the internet, so go ahead and shut our local porn stores down but when they are all gone, the gay community will still be here, not just in Hillcrest but in North Park, Golden Hill, Downtown, City Heights, and in just about every neighborhood in San Diego. The gay community has left the ghetto and we have claimed our freedom to live wherever we want as openly gay people.
Many goals of the gay agenda have been achieved. Porn stores were never on the agenda. Gay marriage while important to some, is not important for many, if not most gay men. The fundamentalist segment of the Christian community hates the word “evolution” but that does not alter the reality that evolution is the most powerful force on this earth which effects not only biological progression but social progression also. The gay community understands evolution very well and have quietly used this force to overcome our enemies. The Christian community as a whole has now come to respect evolution and are quietly accepting the reality that even though God may not change, our understanding of Him does change, or evolve. For example, while the Bible, as it was written, permits human slavery, polygamy, and stoning people who commit adultery, our understanding of God has evolved to the point that we realize that the Bible which was written by men, was wrong. A similar change in regards to homosexuality has been quietly evolving for the last 30 years.
Therefore, if you think that once the porn stores and gay parade are gone that the gay community will be gone, you are very mistaken. During the time that your “ministry” has been active to clean up San Diego for God, the gay community has grown and become more diverse and much stronger.
