On November 30, 2018 this violent criminal brutally assaulted well-known Christian activist James Hartline while James was walking on Washington Street at 1:30pm inside of San Diego's gay community. Without any warning or provokation, the perpetrator walked passed James who was carrying two large bags of items in both of his hands including Christmas gifts he had just purchased for friends at the UCSD Hospital staff arts and crafts fair and the perpetrator forcefully slapped James on his buttocks. Shocked and humiliated that someone would do this to him on a public sidewalk in the midst of a busy lunch hour filled with other pedestrians, James turned around and told the perpetrator, "Do not ever touch me again." The perpetrator immediately punched James in the mouth, cutting his lip, then he punched James again in the face, cutting his nose and forehead. I was stunned to read today a Nov. 13, 2018 article in the San Diego Union Tribune that the 2007 murder of 39 year-old, developmentally-disabled Jodine Serrin has now been solved. In 2010, I discovered that public interest in the unsolved case had dried and that police were not finding any answers to the brutal slaying of Jodine Serrin.
