BREAKING NEWS ALERT: SAN DIEGO GAY COMMUNITY BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THIS VIOLENT PERPETRATOR WHO ASSAULTED CHRISTIAN ACTIVIST JAMES HARTLINE ~ SDPD INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY TO IDENTIFY AND APPREHEND HIM

On November 30, 2018 this violent criminal brutally assaulted well-known Christian activist James Hartline while James was walking on Washington Street at 1:30pm inside of San Diego's gay community. Without any warning or provokation, the perpetrator walked passed James who was carrying two large bags of items in both of his hands including Christmas gifts he had just purchased for friends at the UCSD Hospital staff arts and crafts fair and the perpetrator forcefully slapped James on his buttocks. Shocked and humiliated that someone would do this to him on a public sidewalk in the midst of a busy lunch hour filled with other pedestrians, James turned around and told the perpetrator, "Do not ever touch me again." The perpetrator immediately punched James in the mouth, cutting his lip, then he punched James again in the face, cutting his nose and forehead. The perpetrator then grabbed James with the intention of committing further assault and battery. For the next fifteen minutes James was forced to wrestle the assaulter into the window of the Mediterranean Cafe on Washington Street and then forcing him to the ground in an attempt to prevent him from inflicting further injuries. Approximately fifteen individuals just stood around watching the assault and despite continuous pleas for someone to help him or to call the police, not one of the fifteen people intervened or demonstrated an ounce of courage or ethical behavior to help James or to stop the assaulter. In instances like this where human beings and American citizens witness a person being asaulted on a public street in their own community, they do not have to agree or disagree with the political or religious beliefs of the victim being assaulted or robbed or raped or abused in some other way. Basic human decency should automatically provoke within one's own soul an instantaneous reaction to do the right thing at the very moment they see someone who's life is in peril as they are being assaulted in broad daylight in their own community.

HERE ARE THE INJURIES THAT JAMES HARTLINE SUSTAINED DURING THE ASSAULT INCLUDING FLESH RIPPED FROM HIS WRIST BY THE PERPETRATOR'S TEETH AS HE REPEATEDLY ATTEMPTED TO BITE THROUGH JAMES' TENDONS AND ARTERY IN HIS RIGHT WRIST AREA:

THE PERPETRATOR HAS BEEN SEEN ROAMIMG AROUND UNIVERSITY AVENUE AND WASHINGTON STREET IN HILLCREST IN RECENT DAYS. PLEASE NOTE THIS VIOLENT CRIMINAL MAY PREY UPON AND ASSAULT OTHERS WHO LIVE IN THE GAY COMMUNITY. AS A SOCIETY WE CANNOT ACCEPT OR TOLERATE THESE INDIVIDUALS SHOWING UP IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS TO IMPOSE THEIR CRIMINAL AND DEPRAVED BEHAVIOR ON OUR CITIZENS WHO LIVE AND WORK HERE AND CALL SAN DIEGO OUR HOME. THESE CRIMINALS DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT TO COME TO OUR COMMUNITIES TO CREATE DESTRUCTION AND MAYHEM WHILE THEY THINK THEY WILL NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THIS CRIMINAL IS NOW UNDER CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION FOR BRUTALLY ASSAULTING JAMES HARTLINE AND POSSIBLY OTHER VICTIMS. HE PRETENDS TO BE VERY EFFEMINATE AND FRIENDLY TOWARDS GAYS AND NON-THREATENING WHILE HE POSES ON THE STREETS OF HILLCREST IN CUT OFF SHORTS, T-SHIRTS, BLACK SHOES, HE HAD ON A RED HOODIE DURING THE ASSAULT, WITH BELOW THE ANKLE SOCKS AND A BASEBALL CAP. HE HAS AN HISPANIC ACCEPT. HE IS APPROXIMATELY 5' 8" TALL AND WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 130 LBS AND HIS BROWN HAIR IS CUT VERY SHORT TO THE SCALP WITHOUT SHAVING FOR SEVERAL DAYS. HE REEKS OF ALCOHOL AND RIDES THE PUBLIC BUS #7 AND #10. HE WILL TURN VIOLENT WITHOUT WARNING AND BECOME VIOLENTLY ASSAULTIVE TO CAUSE GREAT BODILY INJURY. PHOTOGRAPHS INCLUDE INJURIES JAMES HARTLINE SUFFERED WHEN HE WAS ASSAULTED. HE WILL USE HIS TEETH TO RIP FLESH FROM A TARGETED VICTIMS' LIMBS, HANDS, NECK OR ANYWHERE HE CAN SINK AND GRIND HIS TEETH INTO. HE SHOCKS VICTIMS BY SLAPPING VERY HARD THEIR BUTTOCKS AS HE WALKS BY AND THEN WHEN CONFRONTED HE TURNS EXTREMELY VIOLENT AND RELENTLESSLY ASSAULTIVE. HE MAY BE ON PAROLE OR PROBATION AND MAY BE EITHER A TRANSIENT OR STAYING IN A LOCAL HOMELESS ENCAMPMENT IN HILLCREST OR NORTH PARK OR STAYING IN A LOW INCOME MOTEL. PLEASE CALL THE POLICE AT 619-531-2000 OR 619-516-3000 TO FACILITATE HIS APPREHENSION AND TO PREVENT HIM FROM ASSAULTING OR HARMING ANYONE ELSE. ON THE SAME DAY JAMES HARTLINE WAS ASSAULTED, A UCSD NURSE WAS THREATENED WITH ASSAULTIVE BEHAVIOR AFTER LEAVING WORK BY ANOTHER PREDATOR NEAR THE SAME LOCATION WHERE JAMES WAS ASSAULTED AND THE NEXT MORNING AN HIV PATIENT WAS ASSAULTED IN THE SAME AREA AS HE WALKED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL CARE AND THE PERPETRATOR STOLE HIS BACKPACK. THIS CANNOT BE TOLERATED AND WE MUST ALL WORK TOGETHER TO DEMAND IMMEDIATE ACTION TO CLEAN UP AND CLEAN OUT THESE CRIMINALS TO RESTORE OUR RIGHTS AS SAN DIEGANS TO HAVE CRIME-FREE STREETS TO WALK ON AND COMMUNITIES TO LIVE SAFELY IN!

James Hartline is your neighbor. James Hartline has helped many, many other citizens in the gay community even though some in that community do not like the fact that James has successfully shut down a multitude of pornography businesses and gay bathhouses where thousands of young men were infected with AIDS and then died before they reached the age of 40. Those who died never got to see where their dreams and talents would have taken them because of the drugs they purchased in the bathhouses and the unsafe sex that consumed them in those same bathhouses while they were high on the drugs they obtained there. At least James has done something to end the scourge of bathhouse-induced self-destruction that murdered so many, many many lives. James has also prayed for many of those in the gay community who have not treated him kindly. James even ran to become a city council member representing District 3 which includes a large swath of the gay community.

What kind of society are we becoming when people become so hatefully calloused and hardened towards those they disagree with that they will actually oppress certain community members to prevent them from being a candidate for public office? Or threaten others so they don't feel safe when walking down the street in a community that demands legal protection from hate crimes and discrimination only to turn around and engage in the same hate crimes and discrimination that provoked their own, earlier demands for legal protections from hate crimes and discrimination.

Sure, James can sometimes be a braggard over his successes in shutting down porn stores and helping to prevent the Mt. Soledad Cross from being torn down and in helping to save young, underage girls from prostitution on El Cajon Boulevard. Yes, James can be little overly confident when patting himself on the back for winning a cultural battle here and there, but who hasn't? When you come from a life of being physically and sexually abused for the first fourteen years of your life and then completely abandoned to a state orphanage while your parents moved away, followed by a seemingly hopeless existence of living by yourself in a state of complete poverty as a 17 year-old homeless kid with no self-esteem, and no self-worth while your abusive parents went on to become multi-millionaire construction company owners - well, you learn in this life that sometimes you may be the only one in your life who is cheering for you. Sometimes you have to pat yourself on the back for a job well done because the voices of opposition who are devoted to seeing you fail are the only other voices beside your own that can be heard as you cross the finish line of your winning effort, whether it be a successful campaign to shut down a destructive gay bathhouse or getting soda can recycling bins placed in a fastfood restaurant chain that previously did not have them or the completion of the Rock and Roll Half-Marathon at age 55 less than six months after enduring an actual near-death experience caused by a ruptured gall bladder.

In the last twenty years as a well known ex-gay Christian activist there is not a single person inside of San Diego's gay community who can claim they have ever witnessed James Hartline using profanity or engaging in disrepectful behavior or bullying towards anyone. They cannot name a single instance where he threatened anyone with violence or ever engaged in hateful, disrespectful hostility towards anyone. Political or religious opposing viewpoints or debates are not hate. Rather they are simply the fabric by which constitutionally protected ideals and thoughts confront other ideals and thoughts for the working out of new ideals and thoughts and conclusions without straining irreprably the community we all live in.

Whether you realize it or acknowledge it, James is your neighbor, he is your friend, he is what he is, a human being and a citizen in your community. In the many decades that James has lived out his Christian faith as an ex-gay Christian resident in San Diego's gay community, he has received many death threats because of his faith and politics and he has been the recepient of many hostile and hateful, threatening telephone messages and emails. He has been the target of discrimination where some HIV services in the gay community refused to provide him with the same HIV social services that others receive simply because certain employees of those agencies despise his public testimony as a former homosexual Christian. Those gay employees told James he was not welcome on their property even though the funding for their agencies comes from U.S. taxpayers. It you find this kind of venemous discrimination against a Christian to be acceptable than there is very little hope for America's future and the American way of life.
