When Sentimentality Kills: Those Who Keep Looking Backward For The "Good Old Days" Won't Be Looking Forward or Preparing For The Coming Destructions

When Sentimentality Kills: Those Who Keep Looking Backward For The "Good Old Days" Will Not Be Looking Forward or Preparing For The Coming Destructions in The Near Future.

Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

America is infected with a controlling mindset among many of her citizens who want to return to a perceived safety of days gone by when there was less crime, Victorian era morality, and no threats of nuclear war. There are many Christian leaders in churches who spend more time worrying about the United States Constitution than they do about the Bible. These Christian leaders are consumed with fighting demonic warfare, not with Biblical weapons, but with legal provisions articulated by America's Founding Fathers. We are reminded of the great error in this when Paul stated in his second letter to the Corinthians: "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds."

These Christian leaders make little, if any progress, in the moral demise of this country because there is no spiritual power in the United States Constitution. God never instructed Christians to fight spiritual warfare through the law or the United States Constitution. America's Christian churches are being overrun with pulpits that speak a great deal about same-sex marriages while rarely, if ever, saving the souls of those bound in homosexuality. Conservative organizations are constantly using churches to organize politically while completely negating the saving of souls as a means of saving this nation from its impending judgment.

This entire American civic landscape is littered with the deceptive traits of sentimentality. "If we can just go back to the way it was, then everything will be fine." "If we can just restrain the evil with some good old fashion religion, then we can turn this thing around."

This type of sentimentality is an affront to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus did not look back to heaven as he headed for the Garden of Gethsemane. The Lord kept His eyes and feet constantly moving towards His future encounter with the suffering cross.Today's Christians seek to avoid the reality of suffering. They cast aside faith in God to be consumed with uncertainties and doubts. Thus, they run to the false safety of living in the past. And Satan's forces are lurking all about these waters of the past where Christians run to swim in their pools of sentimentality.

It reminds me of the mothers who have violent and immoral sons in prison. These sons have raped, plundered and murdered the innocent. Yet, in the eyes of these criminals' mothers, they are sweet, lovable men who can do no wrong. Each week, the mothers come to prison, give their sons kisses, money and accept their collect calls. This false sentimentality does not allow these mothers to view their diabolical and perverted criminal sons in any other light but that of what their sons were like as young boys.

It is the same in America. Americans want to avoid the reality of just how dark the present situation in this country is. They watch reruns of Andy Griffith and hope America is still a place called Mayberry.

The real truth is this: We can never go back to the way it was. And we should stop trying to go back. It ain't going to happen. Christians in the United States need to understand that we are in a race against time to get ready for the rise of the antichrist and global calamities. Sipping on Starbucks Coffee and pretending that Starbucks doesn't support the global abortion industry is a perfect example of Christians who are asleep at the spiritual wheel and oblivious to the teachings of the Bible regarding the cataclysmic last days.

"And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light." Romans 13:11-12

God has granted me very detailed dreams and visions about the coming wars upon the earth against the church. There are great demonic forces that Satan is readying to be released against sleeping Christians in the last days. I saw in a vision the coming of an army of horrors and it will arise in the midst of spiritually sleeping Christians who did not guard the gates of their responsibilities, their houses or their own children. God has said to me that it does not have to be this way, but if the church will not wake up from its slumber and its deceptions then it shall certainly come to pass. Nevertheless, it is time that the church cast aside its obsessive sentimentality to embark on a path of crucifying the past and all the sins that dwell there.
