The whole world is cheering, "Go! Joannie Go!" as Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette faces her Mom's sudden death on the ice at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Just two days before Joannie was scheduled to begin her short program in the women's competition, Joannie was informed by her father that her 55 year-old Mom had died of a massive heart attack. Full of anguish and grief, Joannie Rochette gave the performance of her life in the short program on Tuesday and currently is in third place.

On Thursday night, Joannie will be skating in the ladies Olympics finals. She will be skating for her Mom tomorrow night and whether she wins the gold or not, Joannie Rochette will have the entire world rooting for her and standing in the gap where her Mom would have been standing and cheering her daughter on.
