ACORN-LIKE SCANDAL PART 2? FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FUNDING SAN DIEGO CHARITY WHOSE PROPERTY USED AS SITE FOR SAN DIEGO DEMOCRATIC PARTY OPERATIVES
The James Hartline Report has uncovered shocking evidence of a new Acorn-like scandal in the central San Diego area. The evidence centers around a government funded non-profit charity in North Park and that property being used by Democratic Party operatives to further the political agenda and interests of the San Diego County Democratic Party.
The charity is called Bienestar. The website for Bienestar describes the organization as "a grass-roots, non-profit community service organization established in 1989. Bienestar originated as a direct result of neglect and non-existent HIV/AIDS services for the Latino community. Since our establishment, Bienestar has evolved into a multi-service, multi-center agency, offering services throughout Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego. Our team is comprised of bilingual and bicultural staff and volunteers that are demographically, culturally, and linguistically representative of the communities we serve."
According to its latest IRS filing, Bienestar Human Services Inc, headquartered in Los Angeles, received over four millions of dollars in government subsidies during the year ending June 30, 2008. Bienestar Human Services operates multiple charity locations including the one in San Diego. Bienestar has been involved in a multitude of politically-motivated activist events over the years including the promotion of gay marriage, homosexuality, transvestitism and other questionable activities in light of their massive government funding. The organization's manifested presentations are eerily similar to the scandal-ridden ACORN.
The San Diego location of Bienestar has been the focus of multiple investigations over the last five years by the James Hartline Report. Graphic sexual groups, transvestite support groups and distribution of pornographic magazines have been some of the documented activities occurring on the government funded property of the Bienestar location at 3020 North Park Way in San Diego.
The Bienestar website also states that it is funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), the State of California, Department of Health Services, Office of AIDS and the County of Los Angeles, Department of Health Services, Office of AIDS Programs and Policy (OAP).
As a 501(c)3 charity, Bienestar is forbidden by law to use its property or resources for political party purposes.
According to the Stonewall Young Democrats of San Diego, Democratic Party operatives have been using the Bienestar property as the location for their monthly meetings. During those meetings, planning sessions for promoting and endorsing Democratic Party candidates have been a regular part of the group's activities on the Bienestar property.
The San Diego County Democratic Party lists the Stonewall Young Democrats as a charter member club of the party. The county Democratic Party website states:
"More than 40 Democratic clubs are currently chartered by the San Diego County Democratic Party, forming the backbone of the local organization. Clubs represent active Democrats in various geographic and demographic communities. Membership is open to all registered Democrats who support the principles of the Party. The clubs strengthen the Democratic Party by building an organization of capable and experienced leaders and volunteers. Their activities include issue advocacy, candidate forums, education, precinct organizing, voter registration, and social events. Many clubs endorse candidates and provide critical support to elect Democrats in San Diego County."
According to the Stonewall Young Democrats website, the following issues are to be discussed at their December 2009 meeting:
Election season is closer than you think and Stonewall Young Democrats will take up a handful of endorsement items this coming week:
