City of San Diego losing thousands of dollars in lost revenue due to retail restaurants not recycling customers discarded beverage containers!

City of San Diego losing thousands of dollars in lost revenue due to retail restaurants not recycling customers discarded beverage containers. I called Councilwoman Donna Frye's office today to alert her to the refusal of many restaurants like Panda Express that do not provide separate trash containers for recycling empty soda and water bottles purchased by customers.

Even though the City of San Diego now requires-by-law residents to throw their recyclable containers into blue trash cans so the city can make money from recycled materials, many restaurants are not providing such containers. Customers are simply throwing out empty recyclable plastics in the regular trash containers of these restaurants because no alternative is provided. This is an unacceptable environmental problem and a loss of revenue for the city - revenue the city could use to pay for trash collection services being charged to the taxpayers.

The City of San Diego's Recycling Ordinance was unanimously approved by the City Council on November 13, 2007. The new ordinance requires recycling of plastic and glass bottles and jars, paper, newspaper, metal containers and cardboard at private residences, commercial buildings, and at special events requiring a City permit.

You could help your city garner much needed public funds for services by reporting the restaurants that are not providing recycling bins - and by doing so you will also bring down the amount of plastics being dumped by restaurants in the city landfills.

Impressive, James.

Bravo James. I support you 100 percent on this and Jesus would too.

John 6:12 King James Bible
"When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost."

I am sure that Jesus would include the recyclable beverage containers in order that "nothing be lost".

I will email my city councilman (Kevin Faulconer ) and also post a message on the Panda Express Corporate website:

Keep up the good work James.

James said on Twitter:
"Bigger budget deficits, supporting homosexuality & raising taxes: the bankrupt platform San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders."

Supporting homosexuality is good policy. Richard Florida, an international recognized social and economic researcher reports that cities that actively seek to attract homosexuals and other creative individuals are the most successful cities and enjoy a higher standard of living. Big corporations tend to migrate to those cities that support diversity. Several research surveys have indicated that educated people with aspirations for a better quality of life also seek out progressive cities that promote diversity.

Yeah, that $7 billion pension deficit (an increase of $2 billion since pro-gay marriage Sanders took over) and his $200 million per year municipal budget deficit this year alone, is a real positive gay pride accomplishment in San Diego.

James, these restaurants that violate the recycling law should be shut down. Some of these restaurants are not only violating the laws of San Diego but they are violating the laws of God and are an abomination to God.

Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

We need to shut down Red Lobster and picket Ralph's, Von's and Albertson's for ignoring the Bible instructions regarding lobsters and shrimp. If the Bible is truly the word of God then we need to pay attention to what it says and honor ALL of it's teachings.

Good News James. The city will have a chance to make up for the lost recycling dollars at Panda Express at the City Fest 2010 on August 8th.
The dark & demonic warriors of Satan will once again descend upon Hillcrest to promote homosexuality and other forms of sin and debauchery. They will consume beer in recyclable bottles by the tens of thousands; enough recycling revenue to pay for Mayor Sanders salary for a year!

Lighten up and come join us and don't forget to put your bottle in the recycling barrel.

Good boy james, I'm amazed that you actually managed to put together an article that did not have me rolling my eyes or laughing out loud. And you didn't even need to quote scripture!

I think you should spend all your time on the subject of recycling. You might actually end up being a credible impersonation of a human being.

Really? Do you want me to make a list of every republican, anti-gay politician that has been elected since the budget crisis started, and see by how much their deficit increased?
