Democrat Socialists have been plotting a takeover of the San Diego Mayoral seat and the entire City Council for the last four years. San Diego is currently the only city among California's Top Ten Most Populated Cities that has a Republican mayor. A few short years ago the majority of the nine city council seats in the City of San Diego were elected Republicans. Apathy, a bleeding of registered Republicans from the city's voting population and a disconnect between registered Republicans and the GOP establishment leadership has resulted in a near complete takeover of the city council by Democrats.  Currently, Democrats hold 6 of the 9 city council seats, while Republicans hold just 2 seats and 1 seat is held by Mark Kersey, a ex-Republican who recently switched his party affiliation to Independent. 

The problem in San Diego is NOT the sudden seizure of so many elected positions by Democrats from Republicans. The problem in San Diego is reflective of what has transpired nationally inside of the Democratic Party. A small, organized militant movement of radicalized Socialists have seized control of the national Democratic Party. The exact same thing has occurred in San Diego. There are no moderate Democrats in charge of the San Diego Democratic Party. Militant socialist Democrats are responsible for seizing control of the city council seats in San Diego. Until now, most voters did not realize who or what these particular Democrats are who are now in control of the majority of the seats on the San Diego City Council. 

Their agenda is clear: turning San Diego into the southern version of Socialist San Francisco. All of America has gotten a good look at what the Socialist Democrats have done to San Francisco. San Francisco is a catastrophe and residents there are fleeing in droves because there is no hope of stopping the Socialist Democrats from completely decimating the city. For the last three years political operatives in the progressive Socialist Democratic movement have been moving resources and people into San Diego to take over the political infrastructure of the city. If they succeed in seizing the mayoral seat and all nine city council seats in 2020 the Socialist Democrats will have a complete lock on the entire state and there will be no stopping their goal of turning California into a tyrannical American version of Venezuela where the people have no say in anything and the borders of the state will be removed allowing for a massive influx of illegal immigrants and refugees from Latin and South America. Major businesses will continue to move out of the state as will wealthy residents and upper income families. 


Prior to December of 2019 there were no viable #GOP candidates who had filed to run for the 2020 mayoral race. #Democrats assumed they were going to seize the mayoral seat by default. The leading Democrats for the #SanDiego mayoral seat in 2020 are all #Socialist Democrats. They are a catastrophe for San Diego. Recent polls show that over 40% of voters were unsupportive of the Democrat candidates and there is no energy or enthusiasm among voters for the direction these Socialist Democrats plan to take the city. In other words, voters are fed up with the Democrats' ever increasing tax and spend economics, their anti-Christian secularism and their scorched earth policies of open borders, flooding cities with homeless anarchists and their enrichment of big government bureaucrats and unions.

Just prior to the December 2019 deadline to file for the mayoral race, Conservative Republican City Councilman Scott Sherman  announced he would be entering the race for mayor in 2020. Enthusiasm for Scott Sherman is very high among voters. Suddenly, Republicans, Independents and moderate Democrats are excited about a mayoral race that had seemed all, but assured to be a win for the radicalized Socialist Democrats in 2020. In less than one month since announcing Scott Sherman has already raised over $100,000 in campaign contributions. The war to stop the Socialist Democrat take over of San Diego and the state of California has now begun.
