I liked this part of your blog entry: "This worker's life was executed by those who are consumed with purchasing the latest trinkets shipped to Wal-Mart from the slave factories of Communist China." and "Wal-Mart Creates An Environment Where Greedy Shoppers Can Feed Their Carnal Desire For More Junk"

"...Christmas has become nothing more than a day to increase corporate profits and a day to manipulate the psychological needs of depressed consumers, thus saddling the average American with catastrophic consumer debt."

I know that you consider yourself an 'ex-gay' and as a result I feel like you spend a significant amount of time and energy speaking about homosexuality. However, I do enjoy reading your entries when you put just as much time and energy on other causes - including this current blog entry about an employee dying at wal-mart and how that's a symptom of major cultural problems in the United States.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29964825.post-81991862605464900122008-12-04T09:28:00.000-08:002008-12-04T09:28:00.000-08:00Commentators could first study their own Bible wel...Commentators could first study their own Bible well before wrongly accusing the author for not knowing his. If you read Luke 2:24 and Leviticus 12:8, you can conclude that the parents of Jesus were poor. Moreover, it is likely that the parents did use those gifts that baby Jesus received to the benefit of the family, although this is not explicitly described in the Bible. But the details discussed here by the commentators are not really very important compared to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the only gift we truly will ever need.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29964825.post-69197480349196711952008-12-02T15:55:00.000-08:002008-12-02T15:55:00.000-08:00"At this season of the winter solstice, may reason..."At this season of the winter solstice, may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29964825.post-89908094657843823242008-11-29T11:35:00.000-08:002008-11-29T11:35:00.000-08:00"Because gifts were given to the impoverished pare..."Because gifts were given to the impoverished parents of Jesus so that they could care for the infant messiah, it has become a historic tradition in some Christian homes of giving gifts to others as a way of honoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

There you go again, making stuff up, exaggerating, and twisting the bible. There is nothing in the bible that indicates that Mary and Joseph were “impoverished”. The reason they had to stay in a stable was because the hotels were full (they did not call ahead for a reservation!).

How does giving gifts to others honor the Gospel of Jesus Christ?????

Sir, you need to take a bible course to learn what it really says and not just make stuff up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29964825.post-85199984691628338942008-11-29T06:10:00.000-08:002008-11-29T06:10:00.000-08:00James said, “The purpose of Christmas is to set as...James said, “The purpose of Christmas is to set aside one day out of the year to acknowledge the birth of the Savior of all mankind: Jesus Christ.”

What James did not reveal is the historical fact that Christians STOLE December 25th from the Pagans. There is no evidence in the Bible that Jesus was born on December 25th.

The Romans celebrated the Winter Solstice on December 25th as a renewing of the sun every year. Also the Romans celebrated the festival of the Saturnalia from December 17th to the 24th to honor Saturn, the god of grain and agriculture. The festival consisted of a period of goodwill, devoted to visiting friends and the giving of gifts.
At the beginning of the first century, Christianity emerged as a fledgling religion but not until the 4th century did Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. The motive behind the introduction of this celebration aimed at subverting the practice of pagan rituals such as Mithra and Saturnalia. Pope Liberus introduced the Nativity on December 25th 354 C.E.. By the 5th century, the event became so customary that it began to mark the beginning of the ceremonial year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29964825.post-83897047703515199842008-11-28T14:50:00.000-08:002008-11-28T14:50:00.000-08:00it shocks me that you blame the company and not th...it shocks me that you blame the company and not the shameless shoppers in this case. i find it astonishing that we refuse to make PEOPLE accountable for thier actions. there were real live people showing no regard for this persons life because they CHOSE to wait in line for a bargain.
